Assam - An forgettable journey!




Assam is one of the richest biodiversity zones in the world and consists of tropical rain forests, grasslands and numerous wetlands ecosystems now protected as Kaziranga and Manas National Parks. It is also know for its beautiful dark green tea gardens and deep forest of Sal trees. Assam is the home for one-horned Indian rhinoceros, along with The Royal Bengal Tiger and numerous species of birds. It also provides one of the last wild habitats for the Asian elephant.

Sualkuchi - Find the best handloom work at Sualkuchi. In each house here one can find traditional bamboo looms. Known for silk weaving and making of some gorgeous Mekhla Chadars, (Traditional Women Attire), saris and shawls.

Tezpur – is a beautiful hill station of Assam surrounded by snow-capped mountains and sprawling tea gardens. The main attractions of the place Bamuni Hill, Agnigarh, Cole Park, Mahabhairab Temple, Hazara Pukhuri and Bhomoraguri.


Jorhat – is known as the tea capital of India. It has got the largest Tea Reseach centre in the country.

Majuli - Holiday in Assam is incomplete without paying a visit to this this destination. Majuli is the largest river island in india.

Dibrugarh - offers the opportunity of trekking, mountaineering and camping . The city is also an important hub of silk garments.

Kaziranga National Park is a world heritage site. It is well known for Great One Horn Rhinoceros ,Unicornis and also a home of many other threatened species including Indian Elephant , Tiger, Hoolock Gibbon, Ganges dolphin, Sambar , Barasingha or Swamp Deer, Hog Deer, Indian Muntjac, Water Buffalo and Gaur etc. There are also over 500 species of birds. In winter one can observe a large breeding population of Spot Bill Pelicans about one thousand breeding nests are found in a place which has been named as Pelican Colony.Among the reptiles  species like Water Monitor Lizard ,Indian python, Cobra and  the king cobra are found.







Manas National Park is also a UNESCO, Natural World Heritage Site and is well known for rare and endangered endemic wildlife such as the Assam Roofed Turtle, Hispid Hare, Golden Langur and Pygmy Hog. Manas is famous for its population of the Wild water buffalo.
